London: A private jet, carrying three passengers and a pilot, crashed in southern England on Friday killing all on board, a spokesperson for Britain’s Hampshire police service said.

The plane belonged to the Bin Laden family, with reports suggesting that the passengers were close family members of the former al Qaeda chief.

British media said the plane was registered in Saudi Arabia and originated in Milan, Italy. Reuters could not immediately confirm that information.

Unconfirmed British media reports said the plane had been carrying family members of al Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden, who was shot dead by US forces in Pakistan in 2011.

A spokesperson for the British police told Reuters: “Unfortunately, There were no survivors. Four people were onboard, including the pilot.”

Further investigations into the identities of the passengers and the exact cause of the crash are underway.
