In Lahore, two tragic shooting incidents claimed the lives of three people, escalating concerns about safety in the region.
In the first incident, Sub-Inspector Arshad of Baghbanpura was fatally shot while returning home from his duty in the Misri Shah area. He was ambushed by unknown assailants who targeted him with multiple shots to the neck, chest, and abdomen. Despite being swiftly transported to the hospital in critical condition, he tragically succumbed to his injuries.
The second shooting occurred in the Gujjumatta area, under the jurisdiction of Kahna police station, where gunmen ambushed and killed two individuals identified as Imtiaz and Mahmood. SP Model Town Ahmed Zuneir Cheema has directed the SDPO of Kahna to ensure the immediate arrest of the suspects involved.
Initial investigations indicate that the motive behind this attack was an old enmity. Police are deploying all available resources, including Safe City networks and CCTV footage, to track the culprits and anticipate arrests soon.
Additionally, a robbery unfolded at a private hospital in Lahore’s Shahdara area, where six robbers targeted women and doctors, escaping with valuables. Despite multiple calls for help, police response was reportedly delayed.
Moreover, last week, a dispute among children in Lahore’s Liaquatabad led to a shooting that resulted in one death and seven injuries. The deceased was identified as Sajjad. Police responded promptly to this incident, arresting the suspect named Shahbaz and seizing the firearm used in the crime.
These consecutive violent incidents underscore a growing urgency for enhanced security measures and more effective law enforcement responses in Lahore to safeguard its residents.
