Thailand’s Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra declared assets exceeding $400 million, including over 200 designer handbags worth over $2 million and at least 75 luxury watches valued at nearly $5 million.

Paetongtarn, the youngest daughter of a telecom billionaire and former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, assumed office in September and became the fourth family member to lead Thailand’s government in two decades.

The National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) required her to provide an asset and liability declaration. The declaration, posted on various media websites, revealed her assets totalled 13.8 billion baht ($400 million). This includes investments valued at 11 billion baht, deposits, and cash amounting to one billion baht.

Prime Minister Paetongtarn "Ung Ing" Shinawatra and her husband Pitaka Suksawat have a combined wealth of 13.9 billion baht, which includes two houses in London and two land plots on Japan's Hokkaido island, with debts of about 4.4 billion baht, according to the National… pic.twitter.com/aQhXnP9u6x

Additionally, her assets comprised 75 watches valued at 162 million baht, 39 additional timepieces, 217 handbags worth 76 million baht, and properties in London and Japan, among other holdings.

According to the NACC document circulated by local media, she reported liabilities of nearly five billion baht and a net worth of 8.9 billion baht ($258 million). A Pheu Thai Party representative confirmed these figures’ accuracy to AFP.
