Director General Rangers (DG) Bilal Akbar said earlier yesterday that the operation will continue till the elimination of the last terrorist and terrorist groups would not be allowed to regroup in Karachi.

He said that many had lost their lives for peace and their sacrifices would not go in vain. He said that terrorists were on the run and had scattered due to effective operations in Sindh, particularly in Karachi, and they would not be allowed to regroup in the port city.

Talking to the media after reviewing the security arrangements for the Chehlum procession, the DG Rangers said the law enforcement agencies would soon arrest the culprits involved in the attack on Military Police personnel.

Maj Gen Bilal Akbar said the Karachi operation against criminals would continue till the elimination of the last target killers. He said that 10,000 Rangers personnel had been deployed in Karachi while 11,000 more personnel were performing their duties in rural Sindh during Chehlum.

The DG Rangers said foolproof security arrangements had been made for the forthcoming phase of local government elections in Karachi. He advised Karachiites to use their right to vote without any fear in the local government elections.
