A terrorist assault on a police checkpoint in Lakki Marwat resulted in the loss of four police officers, including DSP Iqbal Mohmand, during a roadside bomb explosion.
The explosion occurred while the police unit was en route to the attack site, leading to the deaths of all four officers. Six additional personnel were injured in the overnight armed confrontation.
Early on Thursday, terrorists targeted a police post in Lakki Marwat, prompting an exchange of gunfire between the police and the assailants. After the incident, a search operation was launched to track down and arrest the terrorists.
The deceased officers include DSP Iqbal Mohmand, Karamat, Waqar, and Ali Marjan. The injured personnel is Head Constable Farooq Shah, Constable Amanatullah, Asghar, Sardar Ali, and Arif. Those injured were transported to a nearby hospital.
According to a police spokesperson, DSP Iqbal Mohmand and three gunners rushed to the attack site as soon as the terrorists began firing at the Saddar police station.
However, a roadside bomb detonated near the police station as Mohmand’s vehicle approached Pirwala Morr, said the spokesperson. The explosion resulted in the martyrdom of DSP Iqbal Mohmand and his gunners.
