Terrorists ambushed police personnel in the district Ghizer of Gilgit, resulting in the SHO Muhammad Alam embracing Martyred, while a woman kept hostage suffered injuries.
According to initial reports, a team led by SHO Muhammad Alam conducted a raid on an alleged murder suspect in Bathrait Ghizer; unidentified individuals attacked the police team, resulting in SHO’s Tragic Martyrdom.
Earlier, Shams Lone, the GB Minister for Home, emphasized the prevailing peace throughout the Gilgit-Baltistan region. In a press briefing, he urged individuals to maintain law and order, noting that the area’s tranquillity was momentarily disturbed due to divisive religious speeches. “The state aims for resolutions through understanding, and necessary efforts are being made at all levels,” he stressed.
Recent Attacks and the Army’s Response
It’s noteworthy to highlight a recent incident on the Pak-Afghan border in Chitral, where four Pakistan Army soldiers were martyred, and 12 terrorists were neutralized. The Army’s media wing reported intelligence about terrorists’ activities in Nuristan and Kunar provinces of Afghanistan, leading to swift action and eliminating 12 terrorists.
