The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has announced a suspension of gas supply in the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) and surrounding areas, including Defence View, Azam Basti, and Akhtar Colony.
This interruption damages a 24-inch supply line during third-party excavation work near the Jam Siddiq Bridge.
An SSGC spokesperson reported that emergency repair teams are actively addressing the issue at the site.
The company indicated that the gas supply will remain suspended in the affected areas until the completion of repairs.
Residents should anticipate that the restoration of the gas supply will occur by 6:00 AM tomorrow, provided the repairs proceed as scheduled.
Meanwhile, the Sui Northern Gas Company (SNGC) has proposed to the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) an increase of Rs 64 per MMBTU in gas prices.

This request comes as the company faces a significant shortfall of approximately Rs 20.58 billion for the current financial year, which includes Rs 489 million allocated for the LPG AirMix project.
SNGC has also proposed raising the supply cost of LNG for all consumer categories to Rs 1,711.73 per MMBTU, effective July 1, 2024. If approved, this will likely increase gas prices for domestic consumers.
