Lahore: Punjab Food Authority Director Ayesha Mumtaz said earlier yesterday that, ” special teams had been formed to check food quality at eateries during Eid days.”
Speaking to the media persons at the Lahore High Court, she said provision of healthy and clean food to citizens was the top priority of the PFA. She said staff had been assigned for action against the eateries during the three days of Eid.
She said she would monitor the performance of the authority’s teams herself. Ms Mumtaz maintained that the adulterators would not be tolerated.
She had come to the court to attend proceedings of a case regarding illegal slaughterhouses. She told the court that the slaughterhouses were not in the domain of the PFA. The court sought a report from the secretary livestock by Oct 26.
