Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) leader Allama Dr Tahir-ul-Qqadri Tuesday said his party’s May 11 protest rally was against the “corrupt system” and not the government say media sources.

Picking apart the government, the firebrand reformist cleric declared it spineless, toothless, and incapacitated by the ‘polio’ of corruption.

“The outbreak of ‘corruption’ will have to be contained before everyone is infected. Thus the –organs of– government should also be vaccinated against this ‘crippling disease’ so that it could be prevented from becoming morally handicapped further”, Dr Qadri said.

To a question, Dr Qadri said if a martial law was imposed in Pakistan he would stand by his millions of fellow countrymen to fight against it.

“A coup d’état will find itself up against a lead-reinforced wall if it ever tried to raise its tyrannical head”, said he.
