Under the “Swifties for Kamala” banner, Taylor Swift fans rallied to raise over $40,000 for Kamala Harris following a disparaging post from Donald Trump. The Republican candidate expressed his disdain for Swift in a post on Truth Social, declaring, “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!” The group seized this moment to support Harris, his Democratic opponent.
Carly Long, from the group’s communications team, stated, “The moment we saw the post, we recognized an opportunity. Our team mobilized with lyric-inspired responses and strategies to encourage donations and volunteering.”
The organization, not officially linked to Swift, has amassed over $207,000 in less than two months through its initiatives.
Their initial fundraising event attracted 27,000 viewers and featured celebrities like Carole King and Senators Elizabeth Warren, Kirsten Gillibrand, and Ed Markey.
Recently, Swift endorsed Harris and her running mate Tim Walz, praising Harris as a “steady-handed, gifted leader.” Swift voiced her support on social media, aligning with Harris shortly after a debate.
The Swifties for Kamala are intensifying their campaign efforts, especially in swing states and at upcoming Swift’s Eras Tour stops, resuming in Miami on October 18.

Irene Kim, co-founder of the group, highlighted, “Our activities demonstrate Swifties’ influence. We’re using our fandom to engage more people in voting and politics.”
