Authorities have successfully captured the suspects involved in the attack on Chinese engineers in the Shangla district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, marking a significant step forward. During the investigation, officers detained three who were believed to be accomplices in the incident.
Sources from the investigative team revealed that the same militant group who previously targeted Chinese nationals in Dasu orchestrated this recent suicide bombing in Shangla. Furthermore, investigators discovered that the attackers had parked the vehicle used in the bombing at a petrol station for a considerable time before executing the attack.

The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) uncovered vital details about the vehicle and its handler, enhancing the investigation’s depth. Consequently, they have informed the federal government about the advancements in the probe targeting the assault on Chinese citizens.
Additionally, a spokesperson from the Chinese foreign ministry shared that the bodies of five Chinese victims from a terrorist attack in Bisham have been returned to China aboard a Pakistani military plane. A Pakistani official and a Chinese foreign ministry working group escorted the remains, as stated by Wang Wenbin during a press briefing.
Wenbin also mentioned that on March 29, a delegation comprising China’s interagency working group to Pakistan and diplomats from the Chinese embassy visited a hospital in Rawalpindi, Punjab. They paid their respects to the deceased Chinese citizens, extending sympathies and support from both the Chinese Communist Party and the government to the staff of the Chinese companies affected.
He stressed that China strongly urges Pakistan to conduct a thorough investigation with the highest diligence to apprehend and bring to justice the perpetrators and their accomplices. This effort underscores the importance of safeguarding the safety and security of Chinese personnel, projects, and institutions within Pakistan.
