The Supreme Court administration initiated an investigation on Thursday following the unauthorized release of an image of former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
The image surfaced on social media during his video link appearance before a five-member bench. This court session was related to amendments to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) laws.
The case was presided over by a bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa, which included, Athar Minallah, Hasan Azhar Rizvi, Justices Aminuddin Khan, Jamal Khan Mandokhail. Imran Khan, who is currently incarcerated at Adiala Jail, was granted permission to present his arguments personally via a video link.
This marked Khan’s first appearance in a Supreme Court hearing since his arrest last year in the Toshakhana case from Zaman Park. Unlike previous sessions, today’s proceedings were not broadcast live, prompting PTI leaders to call for the resumption of live coverage.

Supreme Court authorities are now thoroughly investigating the leak. They plan to review CCTV footage to identify the individual responsible for capturing and distributing the image, which violates courtroom regulations. Following this review, the video link’s frame size was reduced to prevent further incidents.
In today’s hearing, Imran Khan appeared via video link, dressed in a light-blue shirt with his sleeves folded. The controversial image released by PTI captured him resting his face on his hand.
