The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has categorically denied reports of an impending suspension of gas supply to residential consumers in Karachi.
In an official statement shared on its Facebook page, SSGC said it has not announced a complete gas shutdown for household users. The company clarified that messages circulating on social media about a two-day gas closure are false, unverified, and misleading.
SSGC confirmed that routine night-time gas load management will continue as usual. Under this schedule, gas supply remains suspended from 10:00 pm to 5:00 am, a practice already in place to manage demand during winter.
The clarification follows online claims that gas supply across Karachi would be suspended from 8:00 am on Sunday until 8:00 am on January 5. SSGC stressed that no such decision exists and urged consumers to rely only on official sources for accurate information.
The company reiterated its commitment to keeping the public informed through verified channels and advised citizens to avoid sharing unconfirmed reports that may cause unnecessary concern.
