Spotify unveiled its ChatGPT integration, transforming music discovery in Pakistan and 144 other countries. Available on ChatGPT Free, Plus, and Pro accounts across web, iOS, and Android, this feature enables free and premium Spotify users to connect their accounts for personalised recommendations. Users can request playlists by mood, genre, or artist and play them directly in the Spotify app.
Since launching in Pakistan on February 23, 2021, Spotify has expanded its footprint. Now, this AI-driven tool enhances user experiences, aligning with Pakistan’s digital growth.
The integration embeds music discovery in daily chats. For example, users can ask ChatGPT, “Create a chill pop playlist” or “Find songs like Bad Bunny.” The AI responds with curated lists, saving time and sparking creativity. Additionally, it helps users rediscover old favourites or explore new artists effortlessly.

Spotify prioritises safety. “We won’t share music or podcasts with OpenAI for training,” the company confirmed. This protects artists’ intellectual property while ensuring the ethical use of AI. Users enjoy a secure, conversational experience across over 2,000 devices, including cars and smart homes.
In Pakistan, the integration supports the country’s push for digital transformation. With millions of users streaming on Spotify, AI tools are enhancing access to education and creativity. For instance, students can create study playlists, and entrepreneurs can craft branded music for businesses. This aligns with government efforts, backed by the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), to boost tech innovation.
