Nine individuals sustained injuries in south London following an attack with a suspected corrosive substance, targeting a woman and two children. On Wednesday, the incident occurred in Lessar Avenue, Clapham, around 7:25 pm.
The Guardian reports that the Metropolitan Police responded to the scene after the initial assault. During the incident, three bystanders and three police officers also suffered injuries while assisting the victims. Five of the nine affected were taken to a hospital for medical treatment.

Detective Superintendent Alexander Castle told The Guardian about the officers’ condition, stating their injuries were minor. He added that investigations are ongoing to identify the substance, which is currently believed to be corrosive.
