A plane carrying four Canadian skydivers was compelled to make an emergency landing on a beach in Oaxaca, Mexico, in the renowned Pacific resort of Puerto Escondido, resulting in the death of a 62-year-old beachgoer.
Despite the emergency landing taking place in a populated area, the victim’s wife, who was present with him, miraculously sustained no injuries. While confirming the accident, the state’s civil defence office revealed that the aircraft suffered considerable damage after colliding with a turtle rescue centre.
Following the incident, footage emerged showcasing the aftermath and the damaged plane amidst the beach’s serene setting. The occupants of the plane, including the Canadian skydivers, aged between 35 and 60, along with a 40-year-old Mexican man, were promptly extracted from the wreckage and received medical attention, all reportedly in stable condition.
In the wake of this tragedy, State Governor Salomon Jara took to social media to express his commitment to aiding the injured and extending full support to the bereaved family, emphasizing solidarity in their moment of loss.
