Six soldiers were martyred, and an equal number of TTP terrorists were killed in North Waziristan during a security operation, as reported by the military’s media affairs wing on Saturday.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) issued a statement detailing that an exchange of fire occurred during an intelligence-based operation on the night of October 4/5 in the Spinwam area of North Waziristan, resulting in the death of six Khawarij (TTP terrorists).
The operation led to the martyrdom of six brave soldiers, including Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Ali Shoukat, who led the troops. The other fallen soldiers were Lance Naik Muhammad Ullah, Lance Naik Akhtar Zaman, Lance Naik Shahid Ullah, Lance Naik Yusaf Ali, and Sepoy Jameel Ahmed.
ISPR confirmed ongoing sanitisation operations to eliminate remaining threats and emphasized the security forces’ commitment to eradicating terrorism. The statement reflected on the soldiers’ sacrifices, strengthening their resolve.
The government had previously labelled the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) as Fitna al Khawarij in July and directed all institutions to refer to such terrorists as Khariji (outcast).
Recently, Pakistan has seen a significant increase in attacks on security forces, particularly in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, following the TTP’s termination of a ceasefire agreement with the government in 2022 and their pledge to target security personnel.
