The Sindh government has introduced Pakistan’s first Senior Citizen Card to enhance the quality of life of the elderly. Minister for Social Welfare Mir Tariq Ali Khan Talpur launched this initiative, promising substantial benefits such as medical facilities, easier travel, and essential amenities.
The program, a joint effort between the Sindh Social Welfare Department and the National Database & Registration Authority (NADRA), will impact an estimated 3.7 million individuals aged 60 and above across the province. “This initiative highlights our commitment to our elders, the foundation of our history and culture,” said Minister Talpur during the launch.

Features and Benefits of the Senior Citizen Card
Ehtesham Shahid, Director General of NADRA Sindh, described the Senior Citizen Card as an essential identification tool that allows seniors to access vital services. Notably, the card offers extensive healthcare benefits and travel conveniences, promoting a more comfortable and dignified way of life for seniors.

Additionally, Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori has unveiled a program providing free healthcare for low-income residents, aiding individuals earning between Rs35,000 and Rs40,000 monthly. This plan offers health insurance coverage up to five hundred thousand rupees, ensuring access to premier medical care in esteemed hospitals.
