Sindh schools closed on March 11, Youm-e-Ali, as the provincial government announced a one-day holiday for all educational institutions on account of the martyrdom of Hazrat Ali (AS), observed on the 21st of Ramadan.
According to the notification, all public and private schools and colleges in Sindh will remain closed on Wednesday, March 11. The holiday was announced in line with decisions taken by Sindh’s sub-committee of the steering committee on education.
Youm-e-Ali is observed every year on the 21st of Ramadan, with processions held across the country to commemorate the martyrdom of Hazrat Ali (AS).

The Sindh government’s notification confirms school and college closures for the day, urging institutions and families to plan accordingly.
In a separate update, Islamabad authorities announced a spring break for educational institutions operating under the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) in both urban and rural areas.
The spring break will run from March 24 to March 27, with institutions reopening on March 30 (Monday). The FDE also said attendance on reopening day will be mandatory for teaching staff to support the compilation and announcement of in-house annual examination results.
