Bitterly upset due to recent arrests made on allegations of graft and corruption, Sindh’s new Information Minister Nisar Khuhro earlier today called on law enforcers to also carry out similar action against corrupt elements in other provinces.
In a statement issued from Karachi, the senior Pakistan People’s Party leader said that ‘some forces’ do not wish to see the PPP leading the provincial government.
“Things will get worse if the mistakes of the past are repeated again”, he warned.
He said that the PPP does not support corruption, and that it was wrong to give the perception corruption only exists in Sindh.
“Those giving this impression should take a look around—others are not angels either!” he said.
The information minister said that it was against the spirit of provincial autonomy that actions are being taken by federal bodies when provincial institutions exist for the same purpose.
He claimed that the PPP was being punished for the sole reason that it had led struggles in political and other arenas in the country.
It should be noted that Nasir Khuro took over the Information ministry from Sherjeel memon due to corruption and inefficiency charges against the later.
