In response to an intense heat wave affecting the region, the Sindh government has decided to commence summer vacations for all educational institutions across the province effective immediately from today, May 19.
This decision, which comes two weeks earlier than the originally planned vacation start date, aims to ensure the safety and well-being of students and staff amidst the escalating temperatures.
According to the Secretary of Education for Sindh, the summer vacation period will extend from May 19 until July 25, 2016. This adjustment in the academic calendar was made following thorough consultations with the Sindh Education Minister and other relevant stakeholders to address the immediate concerns posed by the heat wave.
The Secretary also confirmed that an official notification detailing the change will be issued shortly, formalizing the early onset of the vacation period.
This proactive measure is intended to mitigate the health risks associated with the current weather conditions, allowing students and educational staff to avoid the peak summer heat.
