The Sindh government has announced a public holiday on December 27 to commemorate the anniversary of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto’s assassination.

An official notification stated that all government and semi-government offices in the province would be closed on this day. However, banks will operate normally.
The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) plans a large public gathering on December 27 at Garhi Khuda Bakhsh to mark the 17th anniversary of their martyred leader, Benazir Bhutto.
PPP Sindh President Nisar Ahmed Khuhro confirmed that the event would occur at Shaheed Benazir Bhutto’s shrine. Prominent party leaders from all four provinces, Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and President Asif Ali Zardari are set to speak at the rally.
The Sindh government had designated December 25 as a public holiday for Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s birth anniversary and December 26 for Christian employees to celebrate Christmas.
