In a detailed account shared by vlogger Siddique Jan, allegations have been raised regarding the judicial handling of a case involving Imran Khan, “Khan Sahib,” referring to a prominent political figure in Pakistan.
According to Jan, Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court, Amer Farooq, has exerted considerable influence over the proceedings, culminating in Khan Sahib’s arrest in what has been dubbed “Toshakhana Season 3.”
Jan’s vlog claims that the case has faced numerous delays and reschedulings since May 2, suggesting a deliberate effort to keep Khan Sahib detained. Despite objections from Khan and his legal team, the case continued to appear on the court’s cause list until a sudden and unexplained disappearance the morning after it was last scheduled. This incident reportedly perplexed court staff and raised questions about the transparency and motives behind the case’s handling.
Moreover, Jan describes a stark contrast in the demeanour of PML-N members when interacting with Justice Amer Farooq compared to other judges. He notes that in Farooq’s court, PML-N members appear comfortable and confident, likening their behaviour to “children happily visiting their grandmother’s house.” In contrast, their presence in other courts is marked by visible anxiety and fear, suggesting a perceived partiality or favouritism in Justice Farooq’s courtroom.
These observations have sparked discussions and debates over the integrity of judicial proceedings in high-profile political cases, highlighting concerns about fairness and the influence of personal or political affiliations in the judicial process.
