Kamil Khan, co-owner of the newly awarded Sialkot franchise in the Pakistan Super League, says the team entered the auction with a clear plan and long-term ambition.
Sialkot became the eighth team in the league earlier this month. The Pakistan Cricket Board awarded the franchise to OZ Developers, owned by Hamza Majeed. The auction took place at the Jinnah Convention Centre in Islamabad.
The PSL will expand from six to eight teams in 2026. The upcoming season will run from March 26 to May 3. Speaking in Lahore, Khan confirmed that the franchise will announce its team name, logo, and president today. He said management aims to build a competitive squad for its debut season.
“Our focus is to attract top international players,” Khan said. “We also want a strong local coaching setup to develop talent and represent Sialkot with pride.”
