Islamabad: The Supreme Court on Friday ordered the Prime Minister’s Advisor on Aviation Shujaat Azeem to stop using his powers for the next fifteen days.

The three-member Supreme Court bench headed by Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali is hearing the contempt of court case against the prime minister regarding the appointment of Shujaat Azeem.

The Attorney General pleaded the court to allow 15 days to present documents before the court, to which the court responded that such time may be given as long as it made sure that Shujaat Azeem will not exercise his powers during those 15 days.

After a short break when proceedings resumed the Attorney General informed the court that he was not able to get in touch with the prime minister house, however he extended a personal guarantee at his own risk that until the documents are submitted before the court, Shujaat Azeem will not exercise any of his powers.
