In an ARY News interview recorded before Pervaiz Rasheed’s resignation, one of his biggest critics predicted that the then information minister will be ‘sacrificed’.

The man is none other than the October 28 hero,  Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rasheed.

“Proofs have been provided to them (PML-N leadership), now they will sacrifice Pervaiz Rasheed and a bureaucrat” Sheikh Rasheed told ARY News anchor Arshad Sharif.

Earlier in the day, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Pervaiz Rasheed resigned from his position as the federal minister.

The resignation is the first after the controversial news story published in a leading daily newspaper, which is considered as a serious breach of national security. Sources said that the resignation has been sent to the Prime Minister, who will take the final decision.

Musaddiq Malik, the spokesman for the Prime Minister has said that Pervaiz Rasheed is responsible for the Newsgate.
