Sheikh Hasina’s son Pakistani top Intelligence agency for the Inciting Turmoil in Bangladesh.
In a recent interview, Sajeeb Wazed Joy, son of former Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, claimed that Pakistan’s intelligence agency, the Inter-Services Intelligence Agency (ISI), is instigating unrest in Bangladesh.
Joy voiced these concerns amidst his mother’s uncertain political future, stating that while Sheikh Hasina will return to Bangladesh, her role, whether as an active politician or in retirement, remains undecided.
Joy also expressed gratitude toward Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his administration for protecting his mother during these turbulent times. He appealed for India’s support in rallying international forces to restore democratic governance in Bangladesh.
Accusing the ISI of deliberate interference, Joy stated that the agency’s actions have exacerbated the political instability, likening the situation to that in Afghanistan. He criticized the interim government led by Nobel laureate Mohammad Yunus for failing to maintain law and order, urging it to facilitate a fair electoral process once democracy is reinstated.
Furthermore, Joy dismissed rumours of his family seeking asylum or his mother’s U.S. visa being revoked as baseless. He emphasized the necessity of reinstating democracy to ensure his mother’s return and the continuation of the Awami League’s political legacy.”
