Karachi: Reacting to Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s strike call in Sindh, provincial minister Sharjeel Memon said the call for protest was given without reading the budget.
In a statement issued on late Saturday night, he said people could open their business and run transport on their own will as government would provide them complete protection.
Rejecting MQM’s claims, he said there was no discrimination in budget between urban and rural Sindh.
“Development work worth Rs49 billion would be carried out in Karachi next year,” he said.
“Karachi belongs to all; we own entire Sindh including Karachi, MQM’s call for strike is deplorable, the minister said.
