Shahid Lund Baloch, identified as a dacoit from Kacha, has lodged a formal complaint with the Punjab Home Department regarding his inclusion on a list that offers bounties for the capture of notorious criminals.
Shahid Lund contacted the Punjab Home Department following an announcement by the Punjab government and the Ministry of Interior, which placed a bounty of one crore rupees on the heads of twenty dacoits after an attack on police officers.
Lound, who finds himself at the top of this list, reached out to the Home Department to voice his concerns. He claimed that during an incident where a police vehicle was stuck, no assistance was provided, and he criticized the failure to acknowledge any of the dacoits responsible for killing police officers. He demanded actions be taken against the officers who failed to assist during the incident and called for the current bounty list to be scrapped and a new one drafted.
The increase in bounty from 10 lakh to 1 crore rupees is part of the Punjab government’s intensified efforts to clamp down on crime. The Home Department has published a list of twenty dangerous dacoits, complete with names, photographs, and the set bounties. This list includes individuals such as Shahid, son of Kamal; Mujib, son of Amanullah; Wahab, son of Amanullah; and Ghani, son of Ali Bakhsh, among others.
The department has also shared contact information, encouraging anyone with confidential details about these individuals to reach out via their designated WhatsApp number. They assure that the identity of informants will be kept confidential to promote community cooperation in capturing these criminals.
