Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed that Shaheen Shah Afridi’s scans have shown no signs of a major injury.
In a statement on Monday, the PCB stated, “Pakistan fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi has been advised two-week rehabilitation after he landed awkwardly while taking Harry Brook’s catch during Sunday’s ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 final in Melbourne.”
The statement came after a detailed consultation between PCB’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Najeebullah Soomro, and Australian knee specialist Dr. Peter D’Alessandro.
“Shaheen will undergo a rehabilitation and conditioning program designed to strengthen his knee at the National High-Performance Centre a few days after his return to Pakistan,” said the statement.
The PCB confirmed that Shaheen’s return to international cricket would be subject to completing the rehabilitation program and fitness test by the medical staff.
