Lahore Qalandars have imposed a Shaheen Afridi security breach fine of Rs1 million after a reported incident involving unauthorised entry into the players’ room, according to officials. The franchise said on Monday that the matter was investigated internally and was treated as a misunderstanding rather than a deliberate violation.
In its statement, the franchise said it had formally informed the Pakistan Cricket Board after completing a full internal inquiry. It also maintained that some reports had exaggerated the incident and presented it in a manner contrary to the facts.
Officials said Shaheen, who captains Lahore Qalandars, took guests of teammate Sikandar Raza into the players’ room at the team hotel despite security staff refusing permission. The franchise said the disciplinary action was taken in the spirit of accountability and in line with its disciplinary standards.
Qalandars also stressed that they respect all security protocols. At the same time, they described the incident as a misunderstanding rather than an intentional breach.
The Shaheen-led side is currently second on the PSL 11 points table, with 2 points from 2 matches. They opened their campaign with a win over Hyderabad Kingsmen on March 26, but then suffered a four-wicket defeat against Karachi Kings on Sunday.

That match brought more trouble for the franchise. During the game against Karachi Kings, Lahore Qalandars were handed a five-run penalty for changing the condition of the ball.
Fakhar Zaman was also charged with a Level 3 offence under Article 2.14 of the Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel. The charge relates to an alleged breach of Article 41.3 of the playing conditions, which prohibits actions that alter the condition of the ball
