Pakistan’s pace sensation Shaheen Afridi has achieved a significant milestone, becoming the first Pakistani bowler to secure 100 wickets in each of cricket’s three international formats.
On Tuesday, Afridi reached this landmark during the first T20 international against South Africa by claiming his 100th T20I wicket.
At just 24, he reached this achievement in his 74th T20I match, becoming the second-fastest Pakistani to hit the 100 T20I wickets mark, shortly behind Haris Rauf, who reached the milestone in 71 games.
Afridi has now joined an elite group of cricketers, becoming only the fourth worldwide to take 100 wickets in each international cricket format, standing with New Zealand’s Tim Southee, Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan, and Sri Lanka’s Lasith Malinga.
In addition to his T20I achievements, Afridi has collected 112 wickets in ODIs and 116 in Test matches, making him the third Pakistani to surpass 100 T20I wickets, following Haris Rauf and Shadab Khan.
