Mumbai police have filed a case following a threatening phone call to a Bandra police station directed at Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan.
An individual named Faizan from Raipur, Chhattisgarh, called on November 5 at 1:20 p.m., demanding a ransom of INR 5 million. Authorities quickly traced his location using his active phone number.
In response, Mumbai Police dispatched a team to Raipur for further investigation. The caller threatened to harm Khan if the ransom was not paid.
Previously, in October, following the success of his films Pathaan and Jawan, Khan received a death threat, prompting Mumbai police to upgrade his security to a Y+ level. This security detail includes six armed personnel, an increase from the prior two.
Celebrity security remains a critical issue in India. Earlier this year, police arrested two members of the notorious Bishnoi gang, who had fired at Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s residence. This act was in retaliation for Salman’s hunting of two antelopes, an act offensive to the Bishnoi community, which venerates antelopes as sacred.
The gang’s leader, Lawrence Bishnoi, currently incarcerated, has previously threatened Salman’s life.
