Shah Khawar, the Election Commissioner of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), has assumed the role of acting chairman following recent developments within the organization.
After the resignation of Zaka Ashraf as PCB chairman, caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar appointed Mohsin Naqvi to lead the PCB. However, senior lawyer Shah Khawar will officially take over the responsibilities from Wednesday until the Board elections are concluded. During this period, Mohsin Naqvi, who also serves as the caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab, will continue his role as a governing body member of PCB.
As the Election Commissioner of PCB, Shah Khawar will oversee the forthcoming Cricket Board elections. In these elections, Mohsen Naqvi will be a candidate for the position of Chairman of PCB. The caretaker Prime Minister’s recent decision to appoint Naqvi underscores these changes. Following the approval of Zaka Ashraf’s resignation by the interim PM, Naqvi was named the new head of the PCB.
