Scattered drizzle to moderate rain across the city on Friday morning turned weather pleasant, however it tripped various power feeders, plunging many areas in darkness.
City areas including Defence, Hasan Square, PECHS, Nazizmabad, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, University Road, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Federal B Area, Liaquatabad went out of electricity after moderate to light rains that lashed the city.
Reports were received from across the city of motorcyclists being skidded off roads, sustaining minor injuries.
Meanwhile, a 500-kilowatt grid station caught fire in Hyderabad, resulting power suspension to 14 districts of Sindh. The citizens in large number of districts have been irked with the disconnection in electricity supply.
