Senator Faisal Vawda issued a stark political warning, stating that the ongoing crisis has reached a critical juncture. He presented a binary choice for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI): accept a “minus-one” formula concerning its founder, Imran Khan, or face the “complete political elimination” of the entire party.
Vawda claimed PTI’s popularity has already collapsed. He accused the party leadership of fighting for “power and money” instead of serving the country. According to the senator, the current discord stems from personal clashes, not political ideology.
The senator warned that the state would no longer tolerate unlawful behaviour. He stated any agitation would now meet a “double reaction.” Vawda added that attempts at strong-arm tactics would prompt an even stronger response.
He also claimed several individuals had “surrendered” following the recent DG ISPR press conference. Vawda refused to name them but noted a shift in rhetoric. He said figures who once spoke of freeing Imran Khan are now quietly requesting meetings.
Vawda criticised PTI’s recent strategic shift. He contrasted their prior threats of marching toward D-Chowk with their actual visit to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor. The senator promised to address this contradiction publicly soon.

He further highlighted severe internal divisions within PTI, stating that the routine insults of its own ministers and senators no longer make any difference. This, he argued, signals a party in profound disarray.
Vawda made a notable claim regarding the PTI founder’s family. He stated Imran Khan’s sisters recently disclosed a personal vulnerability about him. According to Vawda, this was a point even the government had not previously considered.
The senator hinted at future political developments. He suggested that after the 28th Constitutional Amendment, a 29th Amendment may follow. Vawda stated Pakistan’s development journey would restart soon.
He concluded with a final ultimatum. Vawda maintained that if PTI agrees to the “minus-one” formula, “things can still work out.” Without it, he reiterated, the party faces total political eradication. These remarks intensify the pressure on the opposition amid a prolonged political standoff.
