Selena Gomez disclosed that due to medical conditions, she is unable to bear children.
Gomez is exploring surrogacy and adoption as alternatives for starting a family. Expressing optimism, she said, “There are wonderful people willing to do surrogacy or adoption, both of which are huge possibilities for me.”
In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, the 32-year-old actress discussed the personal impact of her health issues. Diagnosed with lupus in 2013 and following a kidney transplant in 2017, Gomez acknowledged the severe risks to both her life and that of a potential child. “I unfortunately have a lot of medical issues that would put my life and the baby’s in jeopardy,” she shared.
Gomez has openly discussed her aspirations for motherhood. In May, she mentioned to Time magazine that she would consider adoption by the age of 35 if she remained single. Her resolve underscores her dedication to motherhood despite her health challenges.
