In an intelligence-driven operation, security forces neutralized at least two terrorists in Dossali, a region within the South Waziristan district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, the military declared on Wednesday. This operation was launched in response to reports indicating the presence of militants in the area.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) explained in an official statement that the operation involved intense gunfire exchange between the security forces and the terrorists, culminating in the death of two terrorists.
In addition, weapons and ammunition were seized from the fallen terrorists, who were previously implicated in numerous terror-related activities against security forces and the civilian population.
The military’s media wing also mentioned ongoing efforts to sanitize the area, to root out any remaining terrorists.
On an associated note, a suicide bombing at a North Waziristan checkpost resulted in four individuals’ martyrdom.
The locals expressed their support for the operation, indicating their desire to eradicate the threat of terrorism from their area.
In an earlier incident this month, a blast at Liaquat Checkpost in North Waziristan resulted in the death of at least four individuals, including three from the security forces. Hawaldar Manzoor and policeman Shakir were among the two who sustained injuries in the incident.
The police confirmed that the attack in Datta Khel tehsil of Miran Shah claimed the lives of two security personnel, one police officer, and a civilian.
