Buses used to transport schoolchildren in Islamabad are being reassigned for the prime minister’s pink bus service and other govt projects.
The shift threatens the designated transportation system for schoolchildren as authorities plan to transform PM Transport into Pink public buses; repurposing has raised concerns among parents and residents of Islamabad.
The government has instructed that children from F-six and G-six government schools be transported in two to three shifts. This decision has frustrated many parents, prompting them to plan protests outside schools against what they see as administrative incompetence.
Due to the shortage of government-provided buses, children must leave home early and may not return until as late as 4 pm.
Parents are demanding urgent action. They are calling for an end to repurposing school buses and requesting the Home Minister’s immediate intervention to resolve the issue.
