Saudi Arabia attracts skilled workers with its thriving economy and Vision 2030 initiatives. Sectors like healthcare, IT, construction, and oil demand professionals. The Skilled Worker Visa enables foreign experts to join legally.

The Skilled Worker Visa allows foreign nationals to work in Saudi Arabia. A registered employer sponsors it. Valid for one to two years, it’s renewable based on your contract. It leads to an Iqama residency permit.

Vision 2030 drives demand in key areas. These include healthcare (doctors, nurses), construction (engineers), IT (developers), oil and gas (technicians), education (teachers), hospitality (managers), and finance (analysts).

Why Choose the Skilled Worker Visa?

Vision 2030 reduces oil reliance. It develops tech, energy, and infrastructure, similar to NEOM. The visa fills skill gaps. Benefits include tax-free income, employer housing, health coverage, family sponsorship, multicultural settings, and long-term residency paths.

Eligibility Criteria for 2025

Meet these requirements:

  • Valid job offer from an HRSD-registered employer.
  • Qualifications matching the role, with 2–5 years of experience.
  • Employer sponsorship.
  • Age at least 21; upper limit around 55, exceptions for experts.
  • Medical clearance from approved clinics.
  • Clean criminal record via PCC.
  • No prior visa violations.

Required Documents

Gather these:

  • Valid passport (6 months minimum).
  • Job offer letter.
  • Signed contract, attested by the Saudi Chamber and the MOFA.
  • Attested academic/professional certificates.
  • Experience letters.
  • Medical report (3 months validity).
  • PCC (6 months validity).
  • Passport photos.
  • Application form.
  • Sponsorship letter.
  • Visa authorisation slip.
  • Health insurance proof.

Documents may need attestation from your country’s MOFA and the Saudi embassy.

Step-by-Step Application Process

Follow these steps:

  1. Secure a job offer via applications or platforms like Qiwa.
  2. The employer applies for authorisation through HRSD and MOFA.
  3. Receive a visa slip with the authorisation number.
  4. Complete a medical exam at an approved centre.
  5. Apply at the Saudi embassy with documents.
  6. Travel within 3 months upon approval.
  7. The employer handles the Iqama within 90 days.
  8. Start work after Iqama issuance.

Processing takes 3 weeks to 2 months.

Key Considerations for 2025

  • Permits are classified by skill level via Qiwa.
  • Family sponsorship if the salary meets SAR 5,000–10,000.
  • Costs: SAR 1,000 visa fee, plus exams and attestation.
  • Comply to avoid fines or bans.
  • Explore Premium Residency for independence.

Benefits and FAQs

Benefits: Tax-free pay, growth opportunities, and family relocation.

FAQs:

  • Age limit: 21 min, 55 max with exceptions.
  • Sponsor needed: Yes.
  • Job change: With NOC and approval.
  • Process time: 3 weeks–2 months.
  • Family: Yes, if salary qualifies.
  • Iqama: Residency ID for work.
  • No job offer: Not possible.

The Skilled Worker Visa opens doors to Saudi Arabia’s dynamic economy. Prepare thoroughly for success. Consult the Saudi embassy or Qiwa for updates.
