Saudi Arabia has announced significant changes to facilitate the renewal of Iqama for expatriates and their dependents in January 2025, even outside the Kingdom.
The General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat) confirmed that expatriates’ dependents and domestic workers abroad can renew their residency permits online via the Absher and Muqeem platforms. This update also extends to renewing single or multiple exit and re-entry visas for those outside Saudi Arabia, enhancing convenience for residents.
To use these services, payment of service fees is necessary, as current regulations stipulate. These fees can be accessed via the Ministry of Interior’s Absher platform and the Muqeem Portal.
In addition, the Saudi government has revised the fee structure for several services offered to establishments. These services are now accessible via the Absher Business platform, part of the Ministry of Interior.

- Final Exit: Fixed fee at SR70.
- Iqama Issuance: The issuance fee is SR51.75.

These modifications simplify administrative procedures for expatriates and enhance effective service delivery.
