Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S25 Edge is making waves with its slim and edgy design, setting it apart from the rest of the Galaxy S25 lineup.
Although Samsung showcased the smartphone at its Galaxy S25 series launch event, the brand has yet to announce an official release date, suggesting that hardware finalizations are still underway. Recent leaks, however, have shed light on one of the device’s most critical aspects: its battery capacity.
According to a post by renowned tipster Ice Universe on Weibo, the Galaxy S25 Edge will feature a 3,900mAh battery. While this capacity is respectable, it is notably the smallest in the current Galaxy S25 lineup. For comparison, the standard Galaxy S25 boasts a 4,000mAh battery.
This detail raises concerns, particularly because reports suggest the Galaxy S25 Edge features a large 6.7-inch display. This combination could lead to the poorest display-to-battery capacity ratio in the Galaxy S25 series. In contrast, the sleek Galaxy S25 boasts a 6.2-inch display with a robust 4,000mAh battery, ensuring well-rounded performance.
Experts anticipate that the Galaxy S25 Edge will offer 25W wired charging, which is comparable to the charging capabilities of the standard Galaxy S25.
Additional leaked details confirm previous rumours about the device’s hardware. The Galaxy S25 Edge features a dual rear camera setup, including a 200-megapixel primary sensor (Samsung ISOCELL HP2) and a 12-megapixel ultrawide unit. The tipster also suggests that the primary camera will support lossless zoom, similar to Apple’s iPhone 16.
In terms of design, the Galaxy S25 Edge reportedly measures 158.2 x 75.5 x 5.84mm, making it one of the slimmest smartphones in Samsung’s lineup. While earlier reports had suggested a thickness of 6.4mm, the latest leak points to an even sleeker profile.
The Galaxy S25 Edge’s slim design positions it as a strong competitor to the upcoming iPhone 17 Air, which is also expected to feature a significantly thinner profile. With both technology leaders striving to elevate smartphone aesthetics, the race for the sleekest and most fashionable device is heating up.
