Salman Khan’s highly anticipated film ‘Sikandar,’ directed by A.R. Murugadoss, premiered in theatres on March 30, 2025, right before Eid ul-Fitr.

Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, this action thriller features Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, Sathyaraj, Sharman Joshi, and Prateik Babbar. Fans flocked to cinemas, eager for Salman’s signature Eid release, his first major film since Tiger 3 in 2023.

The excitement was palpable, driven by Salman’s reputation for delivering successful Eid blockbusters. However, early reports indicate a different picture. By noon on Eid, “Sikandar” had earned INR 40 million, an impressive figure, but it did not meet the high expectations of some fans. Analysts suggest that the competitive box office environment, particularly Mohanlal’s “Empuraan” also releasing this weekend, will likely affect this performance.

Salman graciously tipped his hat to his rival, praising Empuraan as “excellent” and highlighting Mohanlal as a standout performer. Despite the competition, Sikandar showcases Salman’s action prowess, with the star doing his stunts. He admitted that his body has taken a beating over the years, saying, “My body’s taken a beating over the years.” Still, his appeal remains undeniable, even though the opening day did not reach blockbuster status.

Sikandar combines thrilling action with a star-studded cast, but its slow start raises some questions. Can it bounce back during the Eid holiday? As Salman Khán faces opponents on-screen and competes with rivals at the box office, fans eagerly await the final verdict on this festive showdown.
