The highly-anticipated trailer for the historic joint venture of Pakistan and Turkey, “Kudüs Fatihi Selahaddin Eyyubi (Saladin: The Conquerer of Jerusalem)”, has been unveiled.

Saladin: The Conquerer of Jerusalem casts light upon the intense religious warfare over the coveted city of Jerusalem.

Adnan Siddiqui took to Instagram to share the trailer and highlight the significance of reflecting upon history. He marked his production debut with this Turkish series, dedicating a heartfelt note to the iconic Muslim ruler and founder of the Ayyubid dynasty, upon whom the show revolves. Siddiqui emphasized the timeless lessons from the life of Selahaddin Eyubbi and teased the audience about the show’s premiere on November 13th.

A Glimpse into the War-Torn Jerusalem

The trailer initiates with an inquiry into the essence of Jerusalem and proceeds to depict the looming war over this holy land – resonating with the contemporary strife surrounding Jerusalem. From exhilarating battle scenes to spiritual and political confrontations, the trailer is a roller-coaster of emotions. It draws to a close with a profound prayer, hoping for Jerusalem’s destiny to be intertwined with Selahuddin’s legacy.

The previous week had seen the release of a teaser for this monumental series that aims to narrate Eyyubi’s triumph over Jerusalem during the Crusades. The initiative was a collective endeavour of stalwarts like Humayun Saeed, Adnan Siddiqui, Dr Kashif Ansari, Ahmet Faruk Bakacak, and Dr Junaid Ali Shah. An emotional message by Siddiqui accompanied the teaser, which evoked anticipation and excitement among the audience.

Turkish actor Uğur Güneş, celebrated for his role in the iconic series “Diriliş: Ertuğrul”, dons the lead role of Sultan Selahaddin Eyyubi. Filmed on an expansive set that mirrors the ancient city of Damascus, the attention to detail is evident, from majestic mosques and palaces to vibrant bazaars and historic dwellings.
