Pakistan opener Saim Ayub is on the verge of a significant comeback as he prepares to undergo an important fitness test at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore. This test is vital for determining his eligibility to participate in the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL), which requires medical clearance.

Ayub’s journey back to the field began after he suffered an ankle fracture during the Cape Town Test against South Africa in January. The injury occurred while he was fielding and was serious enough to require immediate medical attention. Under the arrangements made by PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, Ayub received treatment in London, where he focused on an intensive rehabilitation program to ensure a strong recovery.

After over two months of recovery, Ayub has returned to Pakistan with positive medical reports from the UK. The PCB’s medical panel will review his latest assessments and issue guidelines for further recovery based on his current health status.

Saim Ayub’s PSL Participation

While Ayub is expected to spend Eid with his family in Karachi, his availability for the PSL remains in suspense until after his fitness test in Lahore. His potential return could be a significant boost for his team, Peshawar Zalmi, enhancing their lineup as they vie for the championship.

Saim Ayub’s impending fitness test is a critical milestone in his recovery timeline. His potential participation in the PSL holds personal significance and carries considerable implications for his team’s performance in the league. Fans and officials alike await the results with bated breath, hopeful for his successful return to cricket.
