Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will fly for Nepal’s Kathmandu city today to participate in two-day SAARC Summit starting from Wednesday.

The theme of the 18th South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Summit is “Deeper Integration for Peace and Prosperity”.

The Foreign Office spokesperson said Pakistan attached high importance to SAARC and was committed to its process. “Pakistan firmly believes that SAARC countries have the potential to become engine for global economic growth for the 21st Century.”

The Foreign Secretary is presently in Kathmandu to represent Pakistan in the SAARC Standing Committee Meeting, followed by the SAARC Council of Ministers Meeting on November 25, which will be attended by the Adviser to the Prime Minister on National Security and Foreign Affairs.
