An intense game between the Dallas Mavericks and Los Angeles Clippers escalated during the fourth quarter when Russell Westbrook fouled Luka Doncic and then physically confronted him.
Following this incident, Westbrook was issued a technical foul for the aggressive contact and an additional shove on P.J. Washington, who approached him afterwards. Washington also received a technical foul, compounding one he had earlier from an altercation with Terance Mann.
Both Westbrook and Washington were ejected from the game. Notably, this marked Westbrook’s first ejection in his playoff career.
Westbrook had previously received a flagrant 1 foul in the first half for excessive contact against Josh Green.
Post-game, Clippers coach Tyronn Lue commented on the team’s demeanour. “It’s getting chippy,” he acknowledged. He praised the team’s physical play but stressed the importance of controlling their aggression to avoid technical fouls and ejections, emphasizing that every player’s presence on the court is crucial.
