Matthew Miller, spokesperson for the US Department of State, issued a statement on Tuesday, highlighting America’s continued appeal for Pakistan to honour the constitutional guarantees of a fair trial and due process. This statement comes in response to Pakistan’s military courts convicting 25 civilians, a move the US deems lacking in judicial independence, transparency, and due process.
