The investigation into a disturbing incident where a young man reportedly killed his close friend over a zinger burger has concluded, according to police reports on Wednesday. The incident, driven by a dispute over a meal intended for the assailant’s girlfriend, ended tragically.

The victim, 17-year-old Ali Kerio, is the son of Javed Kerio, a sessions judge in Karachi District South. The accused, Daniyal Nazeer Mir Bahar, is the son of Nazir Ahmed Mir Bahar, a retired Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP).

The inquiry revealed that on February 8, Daniyal invited his girlfriend, Shazia, along with Ali Kerio and his brother Ahmar Kerio, to his residence in Karachi’s Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Phase V. During the visit, Daniyal had ordered two zinger burgers for himself and Shazia. However, Ali allegedly ate half of one burger, which infuriated Daniyal. In his anger, Daniyal grabbed an assault rifle from his security guard and shot Ali. Ali later died from his injuries while being transported to the hospital.

The investigation officer has completed the inquiry and submitted the findings to higher authorities, indicating that the police officer’s son committed the crime. Daniyal is currently detained and awaiting further legal proceedings.
