Renowned Pakistani actor Abid Kashmiri has died in Lahore, as his family confirmed today.
Kashmiri had been battling serious kidney and respiratory issues for some time, his family disclosed.
Throughout his extensive career, Kashmiri earned widespread praise for his theatre, television, and film work. He was celebrated as one of Lahore’s veteran performers, demonstrating remarkable versatility across various entertainment platforms.
He participated in many TV and stage productions, as well as films. His comedic talent was particularly notable in the 1988 film ‘Bazar-e-Husan’, for which he received the Nigar Award.
In addition to his film achievements, he appeared in several PTV dramas and shows on other channels.
His notable works include performances in “Lohari Gate,” “Suraj ke Sath Sath,” “Samundar,” “Apnay Log,” and “Teesra Kinara.”
During a visit to his homeland, Kashmiri recently appeared on several television talk shows.
The award-winning actor leaves behind two sons and two daughters.
He had lived abroad for many years and continued working until his health declined.
